UJN International Delicious Food Festival Held as Scheduled

On April 28,in order to build an exchange platform of Chinese and foreign food cultures and further cultivate international atmosphere in our university, International Delicious Food Festival, one of the most important activities during UJN International Cultural Exchange Festival, was held as scheduled. Xu Jingyan, Secretary of the Party Committee of UJN, Zhang Shiqiang, President of UJN, and Cui Guilu, Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection, attended the activity along with supervisors from relevant departments.

 

This year, international students from South Korea, Cambodia, Pakistan, the Republic of Congo, Italy, Japan and other countries, were invited to participate in this activity, bringing teachers and students a unique cultural experience through every bite with selected ingredients and their consummate cooking skills. Diversified delicious food represents food cultures of different countries, attracting teachers and students across our university who were eager to take a bite. International students in their ethnic clothes were dancing and singing in front of their exhibition tables, bringing cultural enjoyment in another way. Delicious food contest and lucky draw were also added to this year’s activities, creating more fun besides those wonderful tastes. In the end, the Most Creative Prize, the Best Looking Prize and the Most Exotic-Flavoured Prize went respectively to Japanese food, Pakistani food and Bangladeshi food.

 

As one of a series of activities during UJN International Cultural Exchange Festival, International Delicious Food Festival, relying on international students and diversified food cultures, aims to build a direct communication platform for international and Chinese students. It helps students and teachers experience different cultures with fun, and promote communication and mix between different cultures, becoming an important approach of School of International Education and Exchange to education through practice and culture. It has received unanimous praise from students and teachers across the university since it was first held.
