Motto of University of Jinan

• The motto of the university is "Magnanimity and Perseverance, Erudition, and Pursuit of Truth and Excellence", quoted from Confucian classic The Great Learning, the Analects of Confucius and so on.
• The motto summarizes University of Jinan's educational philosophy and the quality we want our students to develop.
• The famous scholar and calligrapher of China, visiting professor of the university, Ouyang Zhongshi wrote the motto for us in Chinese calligraphy.

Emblem

• The emblem was designed with the Chinese character Ji (meaning the city of Jinan) written in the seal calligraphic style in vogue during the Qin Dynasty at the center. It is a pictograph of a boat on water showing Jinan geographical cultures-water and UJN spirit-cooperating by riding the same boat.
• The colours are red for passion, green for youth, and blue for the breadth ,which is in accordance with University of Jinan's education philosophy.
• The figure "1948" means the time for the birth of University of Jinan.
