Introduction of Natural Science Research of University of Jinan

University of Jinan currently has 11 polytechnic schools, including School of Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Technology, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil and Architectural Engineering, Automation and Electrical Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Resource and Environmental Sciences, Hotel Management, and Medicine and life Sciences, etc. The university has built one Engineering Research Center of Chinese Ministry of Education, ten centers of Shandong Province , one center of Jinan, 53 research organizations on campus, and ten more industry-university–research cooperation bases.

The university highly values scientific research and continuously keeps deepening reforms on management system of scientific research, leading to constant new breakthroughs in research work. Over the past five years, the university has undertaken around 200 national research projects including funds from the National Science and Technology Support Program, 973 project program, 863 project program, and support from the Natural Science Foundation of China. The University has won more than 350 provincial prizes for research achievements, 86 provincial prizes for science and technology, of which one second prize of National Award for Technological Invention and 3 second prizes of National Award for Science and Technology Progress, and obtained 211 national patents. 2700 papers were indexed by SCI, EI or ISTP.
