Recently, China’s Ministry of Education announced the results of registration and approval of undergraduate majors of 2020. Among them, all of three majors applied by University of Jinan are approved, which are artificial intelligence (080717T), biopharmaceutical (083002T) and emergency management (120111T) respectively. This is another phased achievement of UJN to actively meet the needs of national and local economic and social development, further optimize the structure and layout of undergraduate majors, and enhance the level of undergraduate major construction.
The artificial intelligence, mainly based on the major of computer science and technology, follows the talent training mode of “new engineering” that pays equal attention to knowledge, ability and quality, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship, and is devoted to training high-quality applied engineering and technical talents in the fields of computer software and hardware with excellent humanities and scientific literacy, broad international vision, solid professional basic knowledge, strong practical ability and meeting the needs of local new and old growth drivers conversion.
The biopharmaceuticals, based on the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceutical engineering, pharmacy, takes the fields of precision therapy, vaccine, biological diagnosis and functional food as the entry point, mainly including computer-aided drug design, synthesis, preparation and analysis of biopharmaceuticals, aiming at cultivating high-end talents of new biopharmaceuticals technology.
The emergency management has been established in close connection with the development of emergency cause of our country and Shandong Province. UJN, as one of the first 19 pilot universities of setting up the Emergency Management College, is approved to establish “an emergency management major group” featuring “emergency management”, “emergency technology and management”, “public safety management” and “campus education of emergency management” based on emergency management major, and to build a “ four-sphere integrated” industry-education integration platform that assembles personnel training, scientific research, social services and international cooperation around the development of emergency industry.
