On March 11, UJN held the meeting to promote serving Jinan’s Powerful Provincial City Strategy. The Vice-principle of UJN, Liu Zongming and directors from HR Office, Science and Technology Office, Social Science Office and Cooperation& Development Office, as well as officers from relevant schools and research platforms attended the meeting. Lu Wang, the Director of Cooperation& Development Office presided at the meeting.

Vice-principle Liu Zongming appraised the work fulfilled by relevant departments and schools in the previous stages and emphasized that building the powerful provincial capital city was a firm commitment to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions made during his inspection in Shandong Province about promoting high quality development of the region. UJN shall concentrate on the mission of building Jinan as a powerful provincial capital city and take due responsibilities. He proposed four requirements for the powerful provincial capital city serving work: First, we should take a broad and long-term view. We must realize the importance of serving the Strategy and take is as a chance to deepen educational system reform, promote deeply integration of the UJN and Jinan City, as well as accelerate developing UJN to a Double First-class university; Second, we shall seize the opportunity and gather superior resources to take the ride on this “high speed train of development”; Third, every school shall actively cooperate with relevant departments of Jinan municipal government and integrate the role of UJN into the Strategy; Fourth, we must concentrate on the implementation of the concrete steps and overcome the difficulties.

On the meeting, the Director Lu Wang introduced the background of “The Opinions on Implementing the Powerful Provincial Capital City Strategy” published by CPC Jinan Municipal Committee and People’s Government of Jinan City, the preparation work performed by UJN and the forward work plan. The Director Huang Jiadong introduced work concepts and methods about serving the Strategy. Relevant departments, schools and research platforms had discussed about UJN’s key missions in serving the Strategy.
