School of Biological Science and Technology

School of biological science and technology (SBST) was established in Jan 2014. The bachelor degrees are provided in two directions: Biotechnology and Pharmacy Engineering. The master degrees are provided in four directions: Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biochemical engineering and Pharmacy Engineering. A well equipped experiment center has been set up. The 6 major research fields of SBST include Plant molecular cell biology, Animal molecular cell biology, microbiology, Production of natural products and bioactive substance, Bioanalytical chemistry and Innovative drugs.

At present, there are 4 professors, 12 associate professors, 31 lecturers in SBST. The number of teachers with doctor's degree is 33.

SBST has undertook a variety of research projects including 18 National Natural Science Foundation of China, 3 "863"projects, 2 international cooperation projects, 15 provincial level research projects and 11 bureau level research projects. The total research funding is over 11 million RMB (about 1.8 million US Dollar). Meanwhile, the school undertakes the projects involving processing designs and technological innovation of many companies. A great deal of achievements have been transformed into productivity and have created enormous economic, social and environmental benefits.

More than 200 articles have been published on domestic and international academic influential journals, including over 80 SCI or EI papers such as Nature Genetics (IF=29.65) and Chemical Reviews (IF=45.661). More than 30 national invention patents have been obtained. Besides, the school has been awarded with more than 5 technology prizes above provincial or bureau level.
